Alfredo Cascante-Marín is a full Professor and researcher at the School of Biology at the University of Costa Rica. He is curator at the USJ herbarium, and his research interests include plant reproductive ecology, genetics, and floristics of flowering plants, particularly bromeliads from the genus Werauhia.
