Adam P. Karremans is a full professor at the University of Costa Rica, researcher and current director of Lankester Botanical Garden and lecturer at the School of Biology. His research specializes on the systematics, evolution and reproductive biology of neotropical Orchidaceae, focusing on the megadiverse subtribes Laeliinae and Pleurothallidinae, and genus Vanilla. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the National Museum of Costa Rica.
