Botanist interested in the evolution, conservation and systematics of spontaneous species. Overall, He has gained 12 years of research experience, visiting international scientific institutes at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and the Botanic Garden Meise, publishing over 30 scientific papers in international journals and attending international conferences.
His research includes various experimental approaches, including the manipulation of reproductive capacity in the field, the simulation of seed regeneration strategies and the application of comparative phylogenetic analyzes aimed at elucidating the adaptive role of functional traits through evolutionary models.
Member of the Steering Committee of the European Native Seed Conservation Network (ENSCONET) and of the Board of Directors of the Tuscany Section of the Italian Botanical Society. He directed international and national research groups and carried out technical and financial monitoring of LIFE projects on behalf of the European Commission.
